Dr. Ronica N. Holcombe, DPM, FACAS

Dr. Ronica Holcombe is a native of Irving, Texas and a graduate of Texas A&M. After graduating valedictorian from Chicago College of Podiatric Medicine, she then completed a three-year surgical residency in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery in Miami.

She was also awarded and completed an Orthopedic International Foot and Ankle Trauma/Internal Fixation Fellowship in Innsbruck, Austria. In addition, she has extensive training in the treatment and preventative care of diabetic wounds.

She began private practice and established North Texas Foot & Ankle in 2001. Her practice thrives due to her dedication and caring nature towards her patients. Dr. Holcombe has authored several publications in medical journal, as well as, dedicated time to several pediatric surgical mission projects in Mexico. Her credentials include being a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and a member of the Texas Podiatric Medical Association, and the American Diabetes Association.

Dr. Holcombe is married with four wonderful children. She enjoys spending time with her daughters and their many activities. Her family loves to travel together when time permits. She particularly enjoys snow skiing and scuba diving.

Dr. Todd Lewis, DPM

Dr. Todd Lewis graduated Cum Laude from Northern Arizona University (NAU) with a baccalaureate in Microbiology and a minor in Chemistry. During his graduate studies at NAU, he was granted a part-time faculty position in the Chemistry and Nutrition Department and participated in Ovarian Tissue and Apo-Lipoprotein E research under Dr. Cheryl Dyer. Upon completion of his studies at NAU, he went on to earn a doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.

He continued on to complete a traditional medical internship at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey and a three-year Podiatric Medicine & Surgery Residency Program at Henry Ford Hospital in Wyandotte, Michigan. Also, he has fellowship experience in research with exposure to reconstructive foot & ankle surgery at Ankle & Foot Care Centers (AFCC) in Boardman, Ohio under director Dr. Larry DiDomenico. In addition, during his tenure at AFCC, he was exposed to an array of sophisticated clinical and surgical techniques and he was able to complete research on two topics in the field of lower extremity surgery.

From 2012-15, he worked in a private practice in Chicago, Illinois and most recently as an associate physician and wound care specialist at The Kansas Foot Center in Wichita, Kansas from 2015-16.

Dr. Lewis actively seeks to better serve his patients. The ability to offer as many treatment options as possible without having to refer patients for further treatment elsewhere would be advantageous. Dr. Lewis feels his past accomplishments, experience, and passion for success through continuing medical education, hands on workshop’s, and research will significantly increase his ability to do just that. Furthermore, he values physician-patient communication and will focus on educating them about their condition and treatment options to allow for the best possible outcomes.

Dr. Lewis’ relentless dedication to ongoing education and academic and professional excellence has strengthened his aptitude to impact the field of podiatric medicine which makes him a notable fit for North Texas Foot & Ankle. More importantly, it means you can feel comfortable and safe, knowing you are in compassionate, skilled, and experienced hands.

Dr. Stephen Schmitz, DPM, FACAS

Dr. Stephen Schmitz is a Podiatric Foot and Ankle specialist and board certified surgeon. He completed a four-year medicine and surgical residency in New York City at Mount Sinai Health System, where he was the chief resident. He specializes in general podiatry, bunions, hammertoe sports medicine, diabetic care, reconstruction, and surgical trauma repair. Dr. Schmitz enjoys all facets of podiatry and getting to know his patients. Dr. Schmitz comes from Northwest Florida and attended medical school in Miami, FL at Barry University. In his free time, he enjoys hiking and camping with his wife, playing ice hockey, attending sporting events, reading, volunteering, and exercising.
